Morning and evening Maids heard the goblins cry:' Come buy our orchard fruits, Come buy, come buy

Christina Rossetti
About This Quote

This is a reference to the nursery rhyme, The Three Little Pigs. The Three Little Pigs were bad characters who lived in an old house. The final scene of the story is them trapped in their house, waiting for the Big Bad Wolf to arrive. While they wait, they sing about what fruits are available for sale in the orchard.
